Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic hard working individual to join the Gwent Deprivation of Liberty Safeguarding team. The team work on behalf of ABUHB and the 5 L.A's within the Gwent region providing a vital legal safeguarding role to ensure vulnerable people are supported and protected and their human rights upheld.
The successful candidate will provide vital administrative support to clinicians and supervisory bodies to enable them to fulfil their legal duty in supporting vulnerable people who lack capacity to consent to their care and treatment .
The successful, candidate will also be involved in supporting the transition and implementation of the new Liberty Protection safeguards framework when implemented.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
- To provide administration support to Best Interest Assessors conducting assessments under the deprivation of liberty safeguards.
- To support and assist in co-ordinating the administration duties for the DoLS process for the Gwent Consortium
- Manage the electronic diaries as appropriate,
- To deal with telephone calls from member of the public, internal/external stakeholders who have contacted the DoLS Team and to give advice and support to those enquiring in relation to the DoLS process
- To arrange and support meetings on behalf of the DoLS team
- Minute taking as required.
- To copy and circulate documents as required,
- To undertake the co-ordination and processing of procurement requisitions using the Oracle system.
- Assist the DoLS team in meeting challenging deadlines which will require robust and timely systems of communication.
- Provide and receive information in an appropriate manner ensuring that all aspects of the Data Protection Act are complied with.
- Gather and input data necessary to compile reports
- To assist in the maintenance of the Dols filing system.
- To assist in the co-ordination of DoLS Reviews
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential,
- Manage highly sensitive and confidential information
