Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager on the Children's Emergency Assessment Unit (CEAU) in The Grange University Hospital.

Adjacent to the Children's Emergency Assessment Unit is the paediatric unit consisting of two acute ward areas, one pre school and one school age and a 2 bedded HDU. This position if flexible across the paediatric unit. The post includes, working days and nights, weekends, bank holidays etc.

Main duties of the job

CEAU is a busy, demanding and rewarding area. The successful applicant will need to be motivated and enthusiastic with good leadership skills and have significant experience as a Band 5 staff Nurse working in a Paediatric acute setting. You will need to have a flexible approach to working in a very busy department, possess excellent communication skills and be passionate about developing and maintaining high standards of care to children and their families. Experience in a Paediatric Assessment Unit is desirable but not essential.

The successful applicant will join a team with a wide variety of skills and experience. The role will include the management of staff, rosters, day to day management of the unit plus additional responsibilities. There will be opportunity for development of knowledge and skills in a supportive environment.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
