Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and highly skilled Physiotherapy Manager to join the ABUHB Physiotherapy Senior Leadership Team on a fixed term or secondment basis for 12 months.

The post holder will provide direct line management and support to a number of Physiotherapy Operational Managers as well as professional and clinical leads within the specialities delegated to this post.

In conjunction with the Head of Physiotherapy Service the post holder will be responsible for maintaining effective and accountable structures to ensure compliance with clinical, managerial, risk and financial governance requirements across the physiotherapy service in ABUHB.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the Head of Physiotherapy Service, the Clinical Director of Therapies, other therapy leads and general managers, as well as professional and political bodies.

The post holder will be responsible for establishing effective communication with local authorities and voluntary agencies in relation to physiotherapy services across the ABUHB community.

This post is a secondment for 12 months due to meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

In collaboration with the Head of Physiotherapy Service and in line with the strategic direction of ABUHB, the post holder will provide focused strategic direction to the delivery and development of evidence based ABUHB-wide services in the following clinical specialities:

  • Critical Care / ITU & HDU
  • Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation
  • Surgery
  • Medicine
  • Neurology (stroke and non-stroke)
  • General Rehabilitation
  • Neurology Outpatients
  • Respiratory Outpatients & Domiciliary services

The post holder will also be the Physiotherapy professional link to other services where Physiotherapists work but are not directly line managed by the ABUHB Physiotherapy service. The post holder will ensure effective accountability and professional reporting structures are in place. These services include:

  • Community Resource Teams
  • Complex Health Care
  • Ty Glas Y Dorlan
