Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity within our busy Endoscopy unit here at Nevill Hall Hospital. There is a medium term plan for cross site cover and on-call.
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, motivated team player who is looking for a new challenge where they will be able to learn skills working right throughout the suite. This would include pre-assessment of patients, working in the endoscopy rooms right through to recovering patients and safe discharge.
You will need excellent communication and organisational skills.

Main duties of the job
Carry out all relevant forms of nursing care. Demonstrating a positive attitude to providing a quality service. Provide a high standard of nursing care within the department, assist with Endoscopic and radiological procedures, liaise with other departments and wards to maintain smooth running of lists.
Deliver a systematic approach to patient care.
Take responsibility for personal development and education including in service training.
Maintenance and care of endoscopes, implementing the BSG guidelines. Develop professional/working relationships with multidisciplinary team members
To be competent in the care and monitoring of the sedated patient. Participate in monitoring and evaluation of standards of care within the Endoscopy Department.
To provide specialised endoscopy nursing care to a high standard.
To assist Endoscopist in procedures involving exposure to body fluids and tissue.
