Job summary
Responsibility for all day-to-day scheduled activity issues whilst also ensuring theatre allocation and scheduling is complete, published and updated in a timely manner. Be the first line of enquiry for theatre allocation and scheduling issues, to resolve within remit of the role or escalate as appropriate.
Main duties of the job

To work closely with PACCT senior team and stakeholders and assist in the co-ordination of theatre activity across all surgical specialities using electronic rota software.
To be responsible formanaging and ensuring waiting lists within PACCT are achieved within Welsh Government target timeframes,
Identifying any shortfalls in service provision and planning a response of corrective measures
To provide a fully comprehensive administrative support to all theatre scheduling and waiting lists within PACCT and day-to-day operational management of clinic coordinators and administration staff

To provide support to all surgical specialities, and PACCT team with the compilation of the weekly theatre scheduling using electronic rota software.
To be responsible for the management of the theatre schedules providing adequate cover for planned theatre sessions. To co-ordinate anaesthetic cover and theatre staff provision in response to covering additional or vacant sessions.
To allocate and re-allocate theatre sessions in order to meet service demand
To be able to manage multiple theatre schedules and sites which requires flexibility due to constant changes e.g. staff sickness, shortage of staff.
Undertake close scrutiny of weekly theatre sessions and patients listings.

To be proactive in the day to day management of all theatre activity across all sites, linking with surgical specialities and scheduling leads /Rota writers, if necessary, to ensure correct sickness procedures are being followed, and appropriate cover arranged.
To identify, organise and facilitate appropriate cover in theatre at short notice to ensure the continuation of operating lists and meet service needs.
To support and facilitate theatre scheduling meetings and ensure all theatre changes are reflected on the electronic rota / theatre schedules
To create and maintain a suitable IT filing structure for easy identification and retrieval of documents. Maintenance of appropriate filing and administrative systems. Create and analyse comparative data to support the senior PACCT management team in making prudent financial decisions.
