The post holder with be responsible for providing Secretarial and Administrative support to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department. Duties include but are not limited to typing of clinics, medical reports, answering telephone calls, updating consultant annual leave, management of consultant diaries, chasing of investigations etc.
The post holder will need to have extensive I.C.T skills and previous secretarial experience. The role requires a very organised person who is able to work under pressure. Experience of minute taking and knowledge of MedSecs and G2 digital dictation or equivalent systems is desirable.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and highly motivated Medical Secretary to support the Clinical Team in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department, based in the Royal Gwent Hospital.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Oral and Maxillofacial Team have excellent communication skills, be flexible in their approach and be able to use their own initiative. They will also have experience of medical terminology and be able to manage their time and workload effectively.
RSA typing stage 2 or equivalent is essential along with experience of using Medical Terminology.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
