Clinical Team Manager - Aneurin Bevan Specialist Drug and Alcohol Service (ABSDAS) - North Gwent
A key leadership role opportunity has arisen within ABSDAS. The post holder will work as a team manager and senior clinician within a dynamic multi disciplinary team covering Monmouthshire, Blaenau Gwent and Torfaen, offering interventions to highly complex people with substance use and co morbid needs, as well as lead the service working in partnership with this cohort of highly vulnerable people.
The successful candidate will manage the team to ensure there is a timely and proportionate response to identified needs. A creative approach should be used in enabling co production and close engagement with other stakeholder services.
The successful candidate will be an accomplished practitioner, have experience leading people and driving forward person centred care. They will have values that reflect a compassionate and open minded professional. They will have the confidence and ability to provide pragmatic and evidence based care.
Applicants will need relevant experience of working in Substance Use Service provision and/or Mental Health Teams and will be comfortable with working with a complex and at times high risk client group. This should ensure the safety of service users and team members alike.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post though not essential; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
To manage the team who provide a community-based service that providing treatment for drug and/or alcohol dependent adults aged 18 and over. Provide an extensive treatment and case management service to people experiencing problems with substance use and associated complexities including mental health, physical health, pregnancy and child protection issues, as well as Shared Care working alongside GPs with a special interest. To support the team lead alongside the wider MDT to deliver and lead on treatment regimes, therapeutic intervention and support to those who have individualised, complex issues alongside their substance use. The Complex Services Team provides treatment for service users who have additional complex issues affecting their psychological, physical and / or social functioning. The nature of this service user group necessitates detailed, comprehensive and robust packages of care that address all aspects of their psycho-social needs to promote progressive and positive change.
The successful candidate will lead the team in conjunction with the Team Lead and work with service users to comprehensively assess their needs and develop an appropriate care plan. This will aim to address their physical and psychological well-being in addition to their substance use.
