An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and innovative individual to join the Bleeding Disorder Network of Wales. We are looking for a Youth Worker to join our MDT to deliver a supportive youth work service, designed specifically around the needs of children, young people and young adults with Inherited Bleeding Disorders. They will demonstrate enthusiasm, compassion and the ability to problem solve creatively. Please contact us for more information or to arrange a visit. Main duties of the job
The post holder will contribute to the development of transition services and to act as an advocate and source of support for young patients aged 11 to 25 relating to their all-round cultural and diversity, developmental and emotional needs. To effectively deliver youth support to young adults within the Bleeding Disorder Network, including those teenagers requiring support whilst in the transitioning processes aged 11+. The position will require the ability to work unsupervised and exercise initiative in the co-ordination of their duties. This will include the continued development of youth work services within the service through identified project aims. The post holder will provide a wide range of appropriate recreational and social activities to enable young people to develop cognitive, social and emotional skills throughout the service. To work in collaboration with health colleagues to support gender specific servicesby supporting young women who have a bleeding disorder engage in joint gynaecological and carrier clinics. The post holder will work in partnership with the MDT in neighbouring health boards, attending outreach clinics.
