Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast paced, dynamic Vascular Access Multidisciplinary Team within the Nephrology and Transplant Directorate. The team consists of Clinical Nurse Specialists, Vascular Access Surgeons, Medical Physicist doctors. The service is responsible for the coordination of the renal access Programme within the renal centres in South East Wales. This includes referral, follow up and monitoring services.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post
Main duties of the job
The Vascular Access Team is a multidisciplinary team providing dialysis access creation and maintenance for haemodialysis patients across South East Wales. The successful applicant will be expected to travel to dialysis units across South East Wales as well as running access assessment and review clinics and cover the inpatient settings. The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery and review of a well established training programme for access management for dialysis nurses and presenting audits of access compliance locally and nationally. In return Nephrology and Transplant is a friendly motivated directorate with opportunities to support education and development. An MSc module in The Care and Management of patients presenting with renal disease. The successful candidate will also be fully supported by the directorate practice development nursing team and the vascular access team to assist with gaining specific skills for the role development.
This is a development role and will lead to a band 7 post once comprehensive training and competencies have been completed.
