Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual. We are looking for a reprographics technician to join a small team working to meet the reprographic needs of the UHB. You will work with the team in the reprographics unit, provide high quality printing and copying service to support the clinical and administrative functions of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work as part of a small team working to meet the reprographic needs of the UHB. Working with colleagues in the print department, provide high-quality printing and copying service to support the clinical and administrative functions of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.

This post is fixed term for 9 months due to - meet the needs of the service

Job description

Job responsibilities

Operational:

1. Undertake all duties associated with a central reprographics unit, including:

a. Operating high-volume copiers

b. Preparing paper stocks, including guillotining

c. Operating folding, booklet making, laminating, drilling and packing equipment

2. Utilise all equipment and resources effectively, efficiently and with minimal operational wastage.

3. Identify faults with printing and finishing equipment and report to the Senior Reprographics Technician.

4. Identify issues with image quality and report to the Senior Reprographics Technician.

5. Undertake page-layout and basic desk-top publishing design for the production of simple forms.

6. Parcel, pack and make available for collection and delivery completed work.

7. Contribute to the delivery and distribution of completed work.

Communication:

8. Liaise closely and advise clients, providing an accurate, timely and confidential service.

9. Contribute to discussions on the future development of the central print and reprographics unit.

Administration:

10. Maintain accurate records of all production activities using paper-based and computer-based systems.

11. Monitor and report stock levels to the Senior Reprographics Technician.

  • 5 GCSE passes including English and Maths A-C or NVQ level 2 / ND in a business administration or graphic design.
