Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 3 Healthcare Support Workers to join Ash Ward within Neuropsychiatry. This role involves supporting individuals with acquired brain injury to achieve their holistic rehabilitation goals.

We are looking for compassionate, caring, and enthusiastic individuals who have experience in supporting physical and cognitive rehabilitation, as well as promoting emotional well-being. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a specialist neuropsychiatric setting.

As part of the multi-disciplinary team, you will play a key role in facilitating rehabilitation across both inpatient and community settings, supporting patients throughout their journey from admission to discharge. You will be expected to work collaboratively to identify and manage risk, respond appropriately to complex and challenging physical and mental health needs, and help patients meet their rehabilitation objectives.

In addition to hands-on experience, the role provides opportunities for further learning in areas such as seizure management, diabetes care, understanding brain injury, and strategies for managing its effects.

Main duties of the job

The Band 3 will be expected to assist the nurse in charge allocate and support Band 2 nursing assistants within Neuropsychiatry to deliver the planned multidisciplinary care. Supported by in-house education/training and participating in clinical supervision. They will be expected to work autonomously and mostly without direct supervision from qualified staff.The care assistant is part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the provision of a holistic person-centred service to older people with varying mental needs. To encourage and promote the core values of personhood, independence, respect, choice, dignity, and fulfilment.Contribute to the development and implementation of assessments, planning and evaluation, in a way that promotes choice and independence which respects the person's right to independence, dignity and fulfilment.
