Personal Assistant to Consultants in Public Health

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive Personal Assistant to the Consultants in Public Health and the Deputy Director of Public Health (Senior Management Team) of the Cardiff and Vale Local Public Health Team.

The post holder will work as part of a busy and dynamic team and must be highly motivated and committed to provide high quality administrative and PA support.

The post holder will possess excellent communication skills, have proven organisational skills and be able to work on their own initiative. They will be able to organise and prioritise their own workload and balance this with the demands of the role.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

Cardiff and ValeUniversity Health Board Local Public Health Team is a multi-disciplinary team with staff employed and funded by a variety of organisations.

The aim of the team, working with statutory and third sector partners, is to identify and address current and future population health issues, improving health and reducing health inequalities among residents and communities in our area. We work closely with statutory and third sector partners in our area to deliver co-ordinated action on population health. We work across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, covering a population of nearly 500,000.

This post will provide a comprehensive personal assistant support to the Cardiff and Vale Local Public Health Team Consultants in Public Health and the Deputy Director of Public Health (Senior Management Team) working as part of an administrative team. The post holder is required to communicate and liaise with staff and members of partner organisations, produce work to deadlines whilst ensuring compliance with C&V Health Board policies. This is a key supporting role in the effective running of the Cardiff and Vale Local Public Health Team.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide a full confidential, administrative and secretarial service to the Senior Management Team

Work as a member of the Cardiff and Vale Local Public Health Team administrative team to ensure service delivery and adequate administration cover is provided.
