Job summary

The NHS Research and Delivery (R&D) Departments led by a R&D Director provide local services for research support and facilitates the sponsoring and hosting of studies within in each UHB. Part of this service includes a NHS research delivery team consisting of Research Midwives, Research Nurses, Clinical Studies Officers, Research Officers and Trial Administrators, employed by NHS organisations to support the delivery of high quality health and social care studies.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Cardiff and Vale University R&D for a 12 month fixed term Trial Administrator to become part of the research delivery team supporting research throughout the University Health Board. We are seeking a band 4 trial administrator that is able to work flexibly to support the service and contribute to the administration of studies within the Research Team and has a keen interest in research. The post holder will contribute to coordination, collection and documentation of accurate data.

The post holder will be working within a large team of staff based within the Research Team with high quality studies throughout the health board. Informal visits are welcomed to discuss the role.

Main duties of the job

  • Assist with the co-ordination of a portfolio of clinical trials across various disease sites.
  • Provide administrative and data management support for all aspects of trial organisation as an integrated member of the network team.
  • As part of the Research and Development team the post holder will contribute to the efficient set up and delivery of research within the UHB contributing to the performance metrics set for the UHB.
