Dietetic Support Worker

Job summary

Applications are invited for the post of Dietetic Support Worker based at the University Hospital Llandough (UHL). We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated candidates to join our friendly and busy team of Dietitians and Dietetic Support Workers. The posts are based on the trauma and gerontology wards and will involve working alongside the ward nursing team and Dietitian to ensure the highest standards of nutritional care.

The role is practically based with a high emphasis on multi-disciplinary team working and communication. The roles are likely to involve working weekends.

Currently we are unable to provide certificates of sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the Home Office's criteria. Anyone requiring a certificate of sponsorship is therefore unable to be shortlisted and interviewed.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

Performing nutritional risk screening, supporting Dietitians in the service.

Reviewing and monitoring of patients' nutritional intake, encouraging patients at to achieve an adequate nutritional intake, assisting patients who may require feeding at the bedside; promoting protected mealtimes and good hydration practices.
