Job summary

SENIOR CLINICAL PAEDIATRIC ORTHOPAEDIC & TRAUMA FELLOWA Senior Clinical Paediatric Fellow in Trauma and Orthopaedics is required to work alongside 14 existing SPRs who support the Trauma and Orthopaedic Directorate.

Post to commence 05-August 2026, for 12 mths

This post is particularly suitable for Post FRCS (Orth) trainees interested in gaining focussed training in Paediatric Trauma and Orthopaedics. Independent Operating sessions will be available along with supervised sessions with 3 consultants who have an interest in Paediatric orthopaedic conditions. Research sessions are timetabled together with an opportunity to attend multidisciplinary and school clinics.This post is recognised for training by the Royal College of Surgeons.In view of Border Immigration Agency regulations, all applicants must state their current immigration status including expiry dates.A Disclosure Check will be required of the successful candidate

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will be based at the University Hospital of Wales. The post will provide middle grade cover for clinical sessions and be on call for both adult and paediatric trauma alongside the specialty Registrar trainees. The University Hospital of Wales is a busy trauma centre with a dedicated trauma theatre, has a regional PICU.

The unit provides tertiary referral services for both elective cases and paediatric trauma.
