Health & Education Support Worker 35 hours pw term time only
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a small established team working across the boundaries of Health, Education and Flying Start by supporting learners with particular health needs access mainstream education and early years provision safely in Cardiff & The Vale. Through extensive training and ongoing clinical supervision successful candidates will gain the skills and competencies necessary to support a child 1:1 with both their complex health needs, including tracheostomy & long term ventilatory needs and their education needs. Working in a holistic manner in order that the learner may reach their potential. Furthermore, successful candidates will be supporting the evaluation of the service to support its development in the future.
It may be necessary to move between sites during the day and successful candidates would need to be able to do this in a timely manner.
Successful candidates may come from an education, children's care, health care background but full training will be delivered to meet the need. Level 3 NVQ in a relevant discipline is desirable, but will be undertaken on commencement of post if candidate does not already hold this.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be part of the Integrated Community Children's Nursing Service and will access the mandatory and additional training required to provide safe and effective care to children with complex health needs including tracheostomy care and children with long term ventilatory needs.
It may be necessary to move between sites during the day and successful candidates would need to be able to do this in a timely way.
This post is fixed term / secondment until 31st March 2026. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
