Quality Safety and Experience Lead

Job summary

A quality safety nursing post has become available to support the Haematology Directorate to ensure effective, efficient clinical governance, particularly in respect of clinical risk management and patient safety incidents. The focus; to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety are delivered. This will involve leading initiatives implementing strategies and overseeing processes related to patient safety, quality improvement and regulatory compliance.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

Promoting clinical incident reporting and ensuring that all Patient Safety Incident reports are accurately recorded, investigated and actioned in line with UHB Policy and corrective action undertaken.

Clinical risk management, patient safety and experience.

Development and implementation of strategies and systems for the continual improvement of services

Provide support, advice and guidance to support risk reduction

Provide Root Cause Analysis (RCA) training

Co co-ordinate the timely review and audit of compliance

Be a resource to other health professionals within the Critical Care Directorate undertaking care/patient management audits.

Develop strong working relationships to provide a robust, effective patient centred focus for the work of the Clinical Board

Collaborative working arrangements with key stakeholders

Actively support the Haematology Directorate Management Team with the Serious Incident reporting process

Assist the Directorate Management Team and other members of the senior team with the implementation of the Putting Things Right regulations.

Case Manager for identified Clinical Board inquests

Knowledge of appropriate legislation relating to Clinical Governance, patient safety and quality
