Occupational Therapy Support Worker

Job summary

We are looking to appoint enthusiastic and motivated individual to work within our friendly, well-established Occupational Therapy service in the Mental Health Service for Older People (MHSOP) based in University Hospital Llandough. The successful applicants will work alongside the Occupational Therapists within the occupational therapy team on the in- patient wards and in the community.

Appropriate training and induction will be provided within the department. Staff of all grades are encouraged to engage in continuous professional development.

Main duties of the job

The role enables meaningful patient centered engagement in occupations, supporting the Occupational Therapists in their assessment and intervention. The interventions are carried out both on an individual and group basis.

The work also involves the collection of patient data, as well as other administrative and organisational tasks, stock keeping and electronic record keeping.
