An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join the Gwn am Byth programme within Cardiff and Vale Health Board. Gwn am Byth is a national programme to improve the oral health of older people living in Care Homes in Wales. It is funded by the Welsh Government and delivered by the National Health Service.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic and positive, with excellent communication skills. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the ability to work both as part of a team and autonomously across different sites with in Cardiff and Vale.
The successful candidate will work as a team taking ownership and responsibility in delivering Gwen am Byth National Oral Health Promotion, training and support programme for Wales. The aim of the programme is improve the oral health of residents in care homes within Wales.
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the programme and have an active role in Gwen am Byth, and at times maybe required to work clinical sessions.

The post holder will be based at Treforest and form part of the Designed to Smile team, you will be required to travel across Cardiff and Vale, and further afield as necessary.

- To promote positive oral health behaviours to clients/ carers.
- To develop and maintain good working relationships and communication with all Care Homes, Colleagues and other Professional Services that are involved within this Programme.
- To make contact and liaise with Care Homes and Services to establish links to enable the delivery of the Gwn and Byth programme.
- To communicate with Care Home staff to gain dates and times for Practitioners to carry out Training.
- To confirm meetings and training sessions with Care Homes.
- To support the Gwn am Byth Practitioners with administrative duties including all associated paperwork, forms and data collection necessary to support the Gwn am Byth programme.
- Be representative of the organisation whilst communicating with external organisations.
- To work within Welsh Government Health Circular (WHC-001 2015) guidelines in implementing the programme.
- Transport equipment and resources between venues as or if required. Using own car or UHB vehicle.
- Participate fully as a team member, including working in all areas, sharing knowledge and information, supporting colleagues, to promote a cohesive team and achievement of team objectives.
