Job summary
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a proactive and motivated Dietitian to be the National Dietetic Clinical Lead for diabetes and Prevention in clinical settings. The post is hosted within Cardiff and Vale University Health Board and works in partnership with Public Health Wales, the NHS executive and other key stakeholders.
The successful candidate will support the development of the All Wales diabetes prevention programme and provide professional and strategic leadership to the National Strategic Clinical Network for Diabetes within Dietetics. They will provide strategic and clinical guidance and advice to associated Strategic Clinical Networks, National Programmes and supporting functions within the NHS Executive.
As an expert in diabetes you will help lead on the vision regarding the provision of dietetics in diabetes, demonstrating strong leadership skills and project management and service improvement experience.
This dietetic lead post is suitable for virtual working with some attendance at face to face meetings across Wales.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will :
Develop a strategic direction for diabetes services, National Strategic Clinical Network for Diabetes and the AWDPP, in line with Welsh Government aims and objectives
To provide expert advice on food and nutrition issues
Identify new areas of development based on the needs of the local population and to support national and local priorities
Facilitate the development and implementation of innovative evidence-based practice and service delivery in partnership with other stakeholders.
Provide clinical oversight to programmes of work to ensure they are achieving the best outcomes for the population and to evaluate and review their outputs
Identify training needs, develop, implement and evaluate nutrition education training programmes including development of resources for the multi-disciplinary team, qualified and support staff, patients and carers in the community setting on an All Wales and National level.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
