Job summary
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Dental Nurse qualified in Radiography to join a highly motivated, professional and supportive Health Inclusion Dental Team.
The post Holder will assist in providing dental care to people experiencing homelessness, substance misuse, asylum seekers, prison leavers, sex workers and traveller communities including special care patients with conditions including learning disabilities, physical impairment including obesity, mental health, medically-compromising conditions, and those with social barriers.
The successful applicant will join a dynamic team providing a full range of community dentistry working alongside dentists, dental therapists, Hygienists and Dental Nurses.
Excellent communication and organisational skills are required along with a flexible approach towards work.
A driving licence is essential as there may be occasions when the post holder will be required to work in fixed clinics, on mobile dental units or provide domiciliary care.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in a Dental Nurse role and be able to evidence their current skills and knowledge as specified on the person specification. This vacancy is based within the Community Dental Service and will work closely with a variety of health professionals and those working in Cardiff and Vale Health Inclusion Service.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for effective and efficient preparation, maintenance, monitoring and support of the provision of dental services, to the Health Inclusion andCommunity Dental Service.
Providing dental nursing support to a range of clinicians providing dental care to health inclusion cohorts including people experiencing homelessness, substance misuse, asylum seekers, prison leavers, sex workers and travelling communities including special care patients with conditions including learning disabilities, physical impairment including obesity, mental health conditions, medically-compromising conditions and those with social barriers.
To be individually responsible for duties associated with the taking of radiographs in line with the Dental Radiography for Dental Nurses certificate.
Provide teaching and support of dental nurse procedures to the Dental team as a whole.
The Dental Nurse will be required to work in a fixed, mobile clinics or domiciliary setting as required, within Cardiff and Vale Community Dental Service.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
