Job summary

Working as part of the Business Intelligence Senior Management Team the post holder will be required to support the delivery of the Health Board Digital Strategy, Clinical Services Plan and Organisational Plan. In order to do this the post holder will deliver a comprehensive Business intelligence service which ensures the highest quality of information is available for all internal and external reporting requirements.

The post holder will build key relationships with all relevant stakeholders whilst working directly with a named Clinical Board or programme such as 6 Goals in order to deliver co-produced insights and advanced analytics to that board and other users. The post holder will work directly with services to understand their requirements and then turn data into insights including modelling, forecasting, interpreting and visualising.

The post holder will also be tasked with improving the levels of data literacy within the Health Board by helping to develop and deliver training programmes on the use of business intelligence products available within the organisation, they will be required to deputise for the Head of Business Intelligence and ensure that all internal and external reporting deadlines are achieved. Therefore, the post holder act independently interpreting local and national guidelines on behalf of the Health Board to ensure the delivery of organisational objectives.

Main duties of the job

Enable the Business Intelligence Department to realise the ambitions set out within the Health Boards Digital Strategy in order to provide stakeholders including Clinicians and Executives with instant access to robust, reliable and fit for purpose information that allows the user to manipulate, comment, communicate and create information reports.

Work directly with services and operations to gather requirements, prioritise work packages and then design, develop and implement resultant Business Intelligence Solutions or bespoke analysis and modelling. Providing users with seamless access to information to support service delivery, improvement and management.

Support Health Board objectives for benchmarking services, further developing the use of comparative information facilities such as CHKS, ePEDW and other internal and external sources.

Work in conjunction with boards and the wider Business Intelligence and Analysis Teams Develop, implement and maintain training programmes for stakeholders in order for them to confidently use benchmarking.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Understanding of strategic informatics issues within the healthcare environment and current priorities for NHS Wales.

Desirable

  • Clinical/Service/Quality Improvement qualification or equivalent experience
