Job summary
Applications are invited for Head of Dialysis Technical Services within South East Wales.
This is an opportunity to lead a small team of specalised enginneers who are an integral part of the patient journey supporting the maintenance and repair of complex renal equipment. The succesful candidate will be a senior manager within the Nephrology and Transplant directorate support the delivery and developmemt of key priorities including Home Therapies expansion.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the leadership, motivation, overall functioning and organisation of the specialised Dialysis Technical Service within Nephology & Transplant directorate. The postholder will be expected to keep within budget and operational constraints. .
They will take the lead and have the ability and experience to handle any of the complex as well as day to day technical problems, giving advice relevant to medical equipment.
The post holder will be expected to deal directly with patients, communicating complex equipment related issues to relevant stakeholders eg: Clinical colleagues, patients and carers. They will have the skill, knowledge, ability and breadth of experience to be able to deal with the complex and unexpected situations that arise.
The post holder will contribute to the overall direction of the directorate contributing individual skills and specialist knowledge as appropriate, assisting the Directorate Manager and wider management team in the overall strategic direction of Nephrology & Transplant. Liaison with customers and suppliers both within NHS Wales and externally will be a priorty.
