Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales for a Band 6 Nurse on Island Ward. The wards provides care for patients from within the Cardiff and Vale locality requiring paediatrician care alongside tertiary services for patients requiring care under multiple specialities.

The post holder will be motivated and enthusiastic about nursing a wide variety of patients with interest in development of the nursing team. You will work closely with the Ward Manager, Senior Nurse team, Multidisciplinary team and the Practice Educator within the ward and the wider Noah's Ark Children's Hospital.

You will have current and up-to-date clinical knowledge and experience and be able to demonstrate an ability to lead, facilitate and develop learning in clinical practice.

To be successful you will need to have:

  • Current clinical experience and knowledge
  • Effective communication skills
  • Understanding of governance
  • Ability to impart knowledge and teach staff, patients and families
  • Organisational skills and be able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently

Main duties of the job

Are you a Paediatric Nurse looking for a new role ? We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, experienced Paediatric nurse who is willing to learn new skills to join our team. The post involves leadership with an expectation of taking on a small team within the wider ward team to help develop and teach, link roles within your scope of interest to teach and share knowledge with the wider team,

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
