Job summary

Are you a motivated and passionate nurse who is interested in working in an innovative, fast-paced chemotherapy setting? This exciting and dynamic nursing post will support people with haematological conditions from across Mid and South Wales.

If so we'd love to hear from you. This is an opportunity for an experienced nurse to develop clinically, personally and professionally in a forward thinking and motivated environment. We will provide a 4 week supernumerary period and comprehensive training package, supported by our Educational facilitators.

We provide highly specialised care for a wide variety of patient groups within the haematology directorate. Staff in this friendly and supportive team develop a wide range of advanced skills and knowledge by rotating between the 3 main areas of Day-care in UHW, UHL and 'Offsite Nurse-Led Chemotherapy Service'.

This post is fixed term/secondment for 1 year due to maternity cover and to meet the needs of the service. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

Main duties of the job

Within these areas we care for and deliver treatment to patients with haematological disorders, including patients participating in clinical trials, follow-up and treatments for patients who have undergone high dose chemotherapy and bone marrow transplant.

This exciting and dynamic nursing post will support people with haematological conditions from across Mid and South Wales.

There may also be opportunities to work within the Haematology Ward and Transplant Unit, Haemophillia centre, Teenage Cancer Trust.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
