The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary Mental Health Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT) covering the South of Cardiff & the Vale of Glamorgan.

The CRHTT provides an alternative to hospital admission for those patients who can be cared for safely with intensive home treatment. Clients of the CRHTT can access Day Services, provided by a Crisis Recovery Unit, up to seven days per week. There is also access to a Crisis House, managed in partnership with Platform Housing Association, which provides respite in a staffed house for up to one week or more, depending on client need.

As well as providing an alternative to hospital admission, the CRHTT supports early discharge from the hospital for those patients identified as suitable.

This is a 24 hour/7 day service, so the post-holder must be willing to participate in a rota.

Main duties of the job

The support worker will carry out direct patient care activities under the direction of a professionally qualified member of the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team.

The post-holder will assist in the provision of mental health services to clients of the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team. Working under the supervision of a qualified member of staff, duties will include activities that involve direct patient contact and clinically related clerical duties as appropriate.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
