Job summary

We are currently seeking a Haematology Day Unit Receptionist to join our administrative team within the University Hospital for Wales. As the first point of contact on the Day Unit, the successful post holder will be highly motivated and will demonstrate effective teamwork and organisational skills as well as always being professional and have a friendly approach to patients, visitors, and colleagues. This role includes answering the telephone, greeting visitors, data entry, filing patient records, and other administrative office duties. You must have effective communication skills and good IT skills.If you are interested in joining a highly motivated team that strives to deliver a patient-focused, high-quality service then we would like to hear from you.

The Day Unit is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm; shift pattern on rotation 9am to 5pm and 8am to 4pm.

Main duties of the job

Answering telephone queries, receiving patients, relatives and visitors to the department, and co-ordinate online patient documentation through computerised patient management systems.

To support the clinical team in ensuring all aspects of the relevant administrative process and procedures are followed to comply with relevant UHB policies.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
