Job summary

Are you a visionary nurse leader with a passion for driving excellence in healthcare? We are looking to recruit a dynamic Deputy Executive Nurse Director to join our leadership team and help shape the future of patient care in Cardiff and Vale UHB. In this pivotal role, you will lead and support the nursing and midwifery workforce, ensuring the highest standards of care while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. You will be collaborating closely with the Executive Nurse Director and your responsibilities will include: developing and implementing strategic nursing and midwifery initiatives, promoting clinical excellence across all areas of the organisation, enhancing patient experience and ensuring safety standards are met. You will drive a culture of continuous improvement and foster professional growth for our nursing and midwifery teams

  • Registered Nurse/Midwife who holds current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
  • Educated to Masters Degree Level
  • Clear understanding and working knowledge of the concept of Quality and Safety, effectiveness and evidence-based practice.
  • High level knowledge of all current issues related to professional nursing and midwifery practice
  • In-depth specialist knowledge of nursing and midwifery, nurse management and staff management acquired through training and experience over an extended period
  • Good understanding of research and can demonstrate how research has influenced their practice
  • Detailed understanding of the provision of health services, National and local strategy in relation to development and service remodelling
