Job summary
Community Phlebotomists are required to take blood samples and carry out point of care testing, from housebound patients in their own homes. The post involves travelling to various sites in the community setting including GP Practices, and therefore the ability to meet the travel requirements is a pre-requisite of this role.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Community Phlebotomy service across Cardiff & the Vale of Glamorgan.Based within Vale Community Phlebotomy team, Community Phlebotomists are required to take blood samples and carry out point of care testing, from housebound patients in their own homes. The post involves travelling to various sites in the community setting including GP Practices, and therefore the ability to meet the travel requirements is a pre-requisite of this role.We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable, organised and friendly people to join our Community Phlebotomy team which is based in Vale of Glamorgan Locality. The Vale Community Phlebotomy team assist in supporting four district nursing teams across the Vale, therefore flexibility across all areas is required. Phlebotomy experience and the ability to safely transport laboratory samples are essential for this role.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
