Job summary
Cardiff and Vale Local Public Health Team is looking for a highly effective Programme Support Officer to autonomously manage elements of specific projects as delegated e.g. Vaccination, Immunisation and Health Protection portfolios. The post holder will also ensure that standard project management methodologies are applied to successfully deliver projects.
This role will provide programme support to the Local Public Health Team which will include routinely drafting escalation and highlight reports on service performance, developing and delivering service projects, capturing and logging risks, actions and decisions ensuring that reporting requirements are met accurately and timely.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Provide and received complex, sensitive and contentious information orally, in writing and electronically to inform work with the public, directorates, divisions and stakeholders. This may include confidential data.
Contributing to developing and implementing an engagement and communication plan
Negotiate and motivate teams on project delivery including linking in with other initiatives
Building and managing delivery plans in line with Project/Programme methodology including: gathering and receiving information of a complex and sensitive nature; communicate project sensitive information requiring agreement or co-operation from operational managers, service users, and stakeholder organisations and provide advice as necessary
Liaise, develop and build relationships and effective lines of communication with key partners
Summarise reports and other key documents
Design and deliver routine and occasionally complex presentations.
This post is fixed term/secondment for 18 months from start date due to project work. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
