Job summary
The post holder will be a registered Nurse with a focus on community immunisation and health protection support. The individual will work as part of a dynamic team, providing a safe and effective service which will include community vaccinations, testing and health protection support across Cardiff and Vale.
The focus for the post holder will be undertaking activities such asclinical assessment, consent, review of complex medical histories and potential adverse reactions. As well as managing the supply and administration of vaccinations across the national schedule ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes by using up-to-date skills and adhering to evidence-based policies and procedures.This post holder will also contribute to the wider health protection support team agenda.
As a health protection support team, the team travels to community sites across the UHB to deliver vaccinations and clinical skills dependent on the clinical need. They will work collaboratively and in partnership with other professionals and agencies to protect the health of our citizens in Cardiff and Vale.
Main duties of the job
To deliver vaccinations inline with the national schedule.
To contribute to the wider health protection support team agenda
Demonstrate and supervise practice and procedures to registered and unregistered nursing staff to secure effective nursing practice.
Promote the health and well-being of patients/clients and maintain a safe, caring and therapeutic environment.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
