Job summary

To assist with the physical and emotional care of babies including transitional care and their families as directed and under the direct supervision of a midwife. To carry out any non-clinical duties and assigned tasks/duties, which contribute towards the smooth running of the clinical area. Subject to enhanced DBS Check.

Main duties of the job

The Cardiff &Vale UHB is the largest in the Principality, providing a national center for many aspects of healthcare and education in Wales. The University Hospital of Wales (UHW) is situated in Cardiff, a cosmopolitan city with excellent cultural and leisure facilities, good shopping, beautiful parks and easy access to the M4.Successful candidates will need to be sensitive towards children and their families, maintain standards of confidentiality and uphold the values of the UHB. In addition the person should be professional, possess good communication skills, and have a flexible approach to working within the Transitional care service on the post natal ward.The Transitional care unit is a 15 cot unit offering additional support and monitoring to a wide range of infants from all over South Wales. This post offers an exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated team delivering Neonatal Care within the busy postnatal care setting.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
