Job summary

The South Wales Doctoral Training Programme in Clinical Psychology/ CBT Student Wellbeing Clinic: CBT Practitioner - Band 8a 1 Year Fixed Term Post.

The South Wales Doctoral Training Programme in Clinical Psychology is seeking to appoint a new member of staff to support a new CBT Clinic initiative. The appointment will be on a fixed term for 1 year initially, with Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.

The CBT Student Wellbeing Clinic has been developed in partnership with Cardiff University Student Support Services and the NHS Mental Health University Liaison Service (MHULS: https://www.cardiff.ac.uk/news/view/2632012-new-student-mental-health-service-officially-launches-in-cardiff). The successful applicant will work as part of a team to provide CBT therapy sessions for Cardiff University Students and provide supervision to other NHS staff. (mostly trainee clinical psychologists and trainee CBT therapists). The post are open to CBT BABCP and HCPC registered practitioner psychologists or/and therapists with backgrounds in any specialism, but with accredited CBT training. Interest in CBT training and student wellbeing would be advantageous.

Main duties of the job

The Doctorate in Clinical Psychology is run in partnership between Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (CAVUHB) and Cardiff University. The programme is based in the School of Psychology which has an established international research record. The programme works in partnership with supervisors from across health boards in south, mid, and west Wales.
