Job summary
We are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity within Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (UHB). The UHB serves a diverse and growingpopulation; it provides health care services to its local residents and also hosts a range of regional and national specialist services, including theChildren's Hospital for Wales.
Main duties of the job
The post holderwill provide enhanced support to the pupils and staff at Ysgol y Deri Special School, through a school commissioned service, which will include

Providing Speech and Language Therapy support to the pupils accessing early intervention provision, both in Ysgol y Deri and in additional sites. This will include supporting transition into and out of the provision.

Providing training to Ysgol y Deri staff to develop knowledge and skills to support pupils' speech, language and communication skills.

Providing Speech and Language Therapy to pupils who are not resident in the Cardiff and Vale Health Board area but attend Ysgol y Deri
- Providing Speech and Language Therapy to specific pupils, at the request of Ysgol y Deri and/ or Local Authority and in agreement with NHS Speech and Language Therapy management, which has been directed by Education Tribunal.
The post holder will take a delegated lead role within the Children's Speech and Language Therapy service, providing clinical supervision and line management to morejunior SLTs and Health Care Support Workers and contributing to service review and development
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
