Job summary
An exciting opportunity in the mental health service for older people team for a Occupational Therapy Technician at a Band 4 level.The Occupational Therapy Technician role has been established to carry out occupational based plans that have been developed by Occupational Therapists to promote recovery and rehabilitation.
Appropriate training and induction will be provided within the department. Staff of all grades are encouraged to engage in continuous professional development.

Main duties of the job
As a Band 4 Occupational Therapy Technician in mental health service for older people you will work with the Occupational Therapy team, providing person centred goal focused rehabilitation.
Working together with service users to support engagement in meaningful occupation, promotingindependence and supporting opportunities for recovery. Use of strategies to support reduced cognition and communication may be required and you will be supported to develop skills and knowledge to use these with individuals, supporting engagement in occupations.
Rehabilitation may be delivered individually or within a group and you will have the opportunity to develop group skills, delivering groups with colleagues.
We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and confident person with a passion for working with older people. Previous experience in a therapy support worker role / working within a rehabilitation setting will support this role.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
