Job summary

To assess the full range of care needs and develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period for women and babies. To be a confident and competent autonomous practitioner who practices within the sphere of NMC, national and Health Board guidelines. To support and guide junior midwives and student midwives within all clinical domains.

The rotational aspect covers both inpatient and community settings.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 6 midwives to join our dedicated team of midwives committed to providing a high standard of maternity care to women and their families in Cardiff , the Vale and surrounding area. If you are a midwife who would like to make a difference to women and their families, then we would like to hear from you. By joining our team you will have the opportunity to bring your wealth of knowledge and experience to our maternity service. Cardiff and Vale UHB maternity service is continually changing and evolving to meet the needs of the population and ensure women and their families have a positive birthing experience. We are a very friendly and supportive team whom welcome innovative ways of working and new ideas.

At Cardiff and Vale UHB you will provide high quality care to our women, babies and their families in various settings throughout the Health Board on a 6 month rotational post. This opportunity is suitable for those individuals who enjoy both working in the hospital and community setting, providing valuable support.

This position is available externally for all Band 6 midwives.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
