Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Lead Bioinformatician to manage the operational aspects of either our Cancer or Constitutional Bioinformatics team. This role involves overseeing day-to-day deployments and software development in a permanent, full-time position working flexibly for 37.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Managing day-to-day deployments and software development for the bioinformatics team
  • Management of a team of bioinformaticians
  • Collaborating with external and internal partners to develop new services and tests using emerging genomic technologies
  • Promoting and publishing research and development activities on a national and international basis

This is an exciting time to join our service as we expand our genomic analysis capabilities. Our laboratory utilizes a wide range of Next Generation Sequencing technologies and has recently launched innovative services for genomic analysis across rare disease and cancer.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving forward our bioinformatics capabilities, ensuring efficient operations, and contributing to cutting-edge genomic research and clinical applications.
