Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sub-Division Deputy Operational Service Delivery Lead within the Constitutional or Cancer sub-division of the Genetics Laboratory currently based at the University Hospital Wales, Cardiff - however, please note that we will be relocating to a new facility at Cardiff Edge in 2024-25. The post is a full time, permanent position.
The primary purpose and objectives of the post will be delivery of key service improvement projects that show a significant impact on reporting KPI's post-implementation
Where candidates are successful at interview, remote and flexible working arrangements will be taken into consideration and accommodated where the needs of the service allow.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a key member of operational management team responsible for operational and strategic direction of a section for either Cancer/Rare Disease, managing and accountable for multiple areas of service (sub-sections) and staff. This will include responsibility for the delivery of safe and effective patient-centred service whilst achieving the key performance indicators for all areas of the allocated section. The post holder will also provide expert clinical advice and will be required to deputise for the lead Consultant in Cancer/Rare Disease for relevant aspects of service. The post holder will also lead on specific developmental projects.
The Directorate encourages personal development and the post holder will be expected to take an active part in the revalidation and appraisal processes.
