Job summary

We are looking for a an enthusiastic, innovative ,exceptional nurse leader to take up the position of Day Service Manager in Mental Health Services for Older People.

We require someone who is an expert clinician and passionate about working with older people with a complex dementia and/ or unstable mental health.

The model for day services continues to evolve and develop and this post will responsible for both the Assessment and Recovery Unit (ARU) in Llandough Hospital and in joint partnership with Local Authority in Grand Avenue, Ely which is a specialist dementia day service provision.

The Day Service Manager will lead and manage the nursing team in developing and overseeing the maintenance of high standards of clinical care and assuring effective assessment and treatment clinical pathways in partnership with the multidisciplinary team.They will assist the service in embedding a full range of psychosocial interventions and provide a safe, compassionate,creative service focused on the recovery ethos.

They will build on the developments and innovations that have already taken place and will, working alongside service users, carers, MDT colleagues, MHSOP management and 3rd sector agencies, continue to shape the design of day services.

Main duties of the job

You will be able to evidence skills in team working, leadership, mentorship and decision making. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills and be a confident and competent practitioner with specialist psychological skills.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
