Job summary

We are looking for an experienced, motivated physiotherapist to join our Childrens physiotherapy service here at Cardiff & Vale university Health Board and to be part of the community leadership team suporting and leading on mainstream schools. This is an exciting role and opportunity to work as part of a large specialist community team, working a long side the principal physiotherapist this role will have a varied clinical case load as well as some operational responsabilities and oversight of the early years complex clinics. The post holder will be taking clinical leadership in supporting our mainstream population of children in collaboration with other AHPs and the MDT drawing on recommendation and best practice guidelines.

The post holder will be responsible for providing highly specialist physiotherapy assessment, advice and intervention for a wide spectrum of conditions, including complex neurological conditions, developmental delays, emerging early year diagnosies and facilitating discharges from the CHFW for children who have sustained life changing injuries. This role works closely with our MSK lead and supports the triaging of referrals into the service.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the paediatric physiotherapy team Cardiff and Value university healthboard, to provide specialist physiotherapy within the community service across early years and mainstream schools.

We are looking for an experienced physiotherapist to work as part of the MDT within the paedaitric community service to provide highly specialist physiotherapy assessment, advice and treatment.

The post holder will participate in the delivery, planning, development, and evaluation of the service in close liaison with the principal physiotherapist for complex needs.

Successful candidates will need to have knowledge and skills to manage paediatrics patients, experience and knowledge of treating neonatal patients and complex neuro-disability conditions. They should be able to demonstrate leadership, advanced clinical decision making, problem solving and communication skills and have experience of quality improvement and service development.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
