Job summary

Ensuring that the development and implementation of Waste management policies, procedures and systems are fully integrated with the UHB's policies, processes and values.

Ensuring the UHB is compliant with its statutory waste requirements and with national and local targets.

Lead in reviewing all waste services by benchmarking or other appropriate means to ensure the most efficient method of provision is implemented for all operational services.

Providing professional leadership and ensuring effective staff development across all disciplines.

Main duties of the job

To lead on the waste Strategy and assist on the wider Facilities Management Strategy which supports the delivery of the Capital, Estates and Facilities Service Board operational objectives and supports the overall Clinical strategies and operational objectives of the UHB.

To lead on the Waste Management Strategy which supports the delivery of the Capital, Estates and Facilities Service Board operational objectives and supports the overall Clinical strategies and operational objectives of the UHB.

To develop, implement and maintain effective quality and safety plans to ensure that the Service Board provides high quality safe services designed to meet the needs of all patients.

To deliver effective financial management and reporting plans which ensures that all resources and transactions are conducted with probity and in accordance with approved policy.

As a senior manager contribute to the development of the strategic direction of the Service Board.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
