Job summary
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 RSCN to come and join our busy Paediatric Emergency Unit team within the Emergency Medicine Directorate. The Paediatric Emergency Unit at the University Hospital of Wales has over 35,000 paediatric attendances per year. Since September 2020 the University Hospital of Wales became the first Major Trauma Centre in Wales and the main receiving centre of Paediatric Trauma. This exciting opportunity will allow for further education and development of those wishing to work in in a Major Trauma setting.
The Paediatric Emergency Unit is a challenging but rewarding environment with opportunities to develop and extend the knowledge and skills required to care for Paediatric patients with a wide range of surgical, medical and trauma conditions prior to their journey into the Children's Hospital. As part of our transformative work we will be opening a Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU) to support those patients that require a short stay for additional care but don't require admission to the hospital.
The Paediatric Emergency Unit is forward thinking and transforming its service to be able to deliver world class care.
