If then answer is yes, the Pharmacy Department is currently recruiting for a Rotational Pharmacy Technician to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work both ward-based and within our dispensaries. The rotation would also provide cover to our clinical trials team and vaccination service.

Whilst ACT and Medicines Management qualifications are required for this post, we welcome applicants who wish to work towards these qualifications and full training will be provided. During training the contract will be Annex 21: 75% of a Band 5 for up to 12 months until qualifications in both ACT and Medicines Management are achieved.

Main duties of the job

The rotation includes: Mass vaccination centres, Dispensaries, ward-based medicines management and administration, clinical trials and distribution.

Mass Vaccination Centre will provide support for both flu and covid campaigns which will include maintaining stock, monitoring fridge temperatures, draw up of vaccine in line with SOPs, administering the vaccine and educating our patients.

Support dispensary services and clinical trials by checking stock and prescriptions, ordering medicines, dispensing, labelling, accuracy checking and counselling patients on their pharmaceutical needs.

Support ward-based activities by undertaking stock control, medication supply, medicines reconciliation, expediting medicines for patient discharge and utilising close liaison with ward pharmacists, medical and nursing teams. Also medicines administration to specific ward areas in line with needs of health board.

Support improvements in patient safety, staff support and health and well-being.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
