Job summary

We are looking for band 5 registered nurses to be responsible for the assessment of care needs related to immunisation and the development, implementation and evaluation of programme of care related to vaccination and testing.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery of a wide range of vaccinations.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills and work well within a team. Education, training and support will be provided.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for band 5 registered nurses to be responsible for the assessment of care needs related to immunisation and the development , implementation and evaluation of programme of care related to vaccination and testing.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills and work well within a team. Education, training and support will be provided.

Deliver vaccinations to all eligible clients and assist with the overall coordination of the site activity and day to day delivery of the vaccination programme.

Ensure clinic rooms and equipment are available at the start of each session.

Conduct pre-vaccination clinical assessments to confirm the correct vaccination, obtain consent agreement and provide advice on any contra indications and ensure that the client receives post vaccination advice.

Address any concerns that may arise regarding the vaccine and contraindications with clients.

Review medical histories and address any potential adverse reaction risks;provide clients with information on what to do in the event of adverse reactions

Assist with the configuration of vaccine station (as per the Green Book): vaccine, vaccine batch, staff member administrating vaccination, date and site confirmation.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
