Job summary

This is a key post supporting Cardiff and Vale Area Planning Board to fulfil its functions and objectives. The post holder will lead on partnerships, commissioning, strategic planning, clinical governance, service redesign and service development. The post requires highly developed specialist knowledge in relation to Substance Misuse, Commissioning, strategic management, and a range of work procedures and practices, underpinned by theoretical knowledge. The post holder will require relevant practical experience to ensure the substance misuse support and treatment needs of the local population are met, and that partnership governance systems, processes and working arrangements are effective.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for commissioning developing, and improving an efficient and effective substance misuse system across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan on behalf of the Area Planning Board which delivers measurable outcomes for people needing support and treatment and will lead and participate in multi-agency planning and transformation groups and support the production of joint strategies and delivery plans; assessing services, programmes and projects, identifying areas for collaborative and partnership working to enable service redesign and deliver support and treatment in the most appropriate setting for individuals.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
