If then answer is yes, the Pharmacy Department is currently recruiting for a Critical Care Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to work across the Critical Care Directorate and closely with the multi-disciplinary team. We are looking for a dedicated individual to provide maximum efficiency, safety and economic drug use through adherence to the Critical Care Directorate model of care and Health Board policies. To demonstrate professional accountability to enhance patient care.
Whilst ACT and Medicines Management qualifications are required for this post, we welcome applicants who wish to work towards these qualifications and full training will be provided. During training the contract will be Annex 21: 75% of a Band 5 for up to 12 months until qualifications in both ACT and Medicines Management are achieved.
Main duties of the job
To undertake, or train to undertake, an efficient ward-based technical pharmacy service to the critical care unit to ensure the accurate and timely supply of medicines. This service will include:

- assessment of patient's own drugs
- accurate medicines reconciliation
- liaising with the ward pharmacist to ensure all prescriptions are clinically optimised, raising awareness of prescription changes and reconciliation concerns
- timely ordering and supply of medicines for critical care patients.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
