Job summary

The Employee Wellbeing Service are delighted to offer this permanent, part time (3.75 hrs per week) post of Clinical Supervisor. The purpose of the role is to offer Clinical Supervision to our counsellors, trainees on placement and the wider People, Health and Wellbeing Team, including our dedicated team of occupational health nurses. The post holder will provide individual and group supervision online and face to face at Denbigh House. This role is suitable for a qualified clinical supervisor who is also an accredited counsellor/psychotherapist with the BACP/UKCP/BPS or equivalent. The post holder will have experience delivering and supervising the delivery of short term/ solution focused interventions preferably within an NHS setting. Duties of the role include, but are not limited to: providing excellent, supportive supervision to counsellors/ therapists using an empowering, empathic and mentoring approach; providing clinical oversight including safeguarding and risk monitoring to all supervisees. The post holder will liaise with the Employee Wellbeing Services other clinical supervisor and both are supported by and report to the Lead Counsellor. There will be a requirement to attend regular monthly meetings with the Lead Counsellor and support the ongoing development of the service.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide clinical consultation to counsellors and assistant psychological therapists working in EWS
  • To maintain clinical records adhering to confidentiality and consent requirements in line with professional standards, Data Protection Act 1998, Access to Medical reports Act 1988, Access to Health Records Act 1990, General Data Protection Regulations 2018 the ICO employment practices code and other legislation as relevant.
  • To participate in role development/service issues and actively participate in service development meetings as and when required
  • To maintain high quality clinical practice by ensuring Continual Professional Development (CPD)
  • To be actively involved in setting up and leading or taking part in any relevant training
  • To attend relevant training and professional development in keeping with requirements of the professional bodies
  • To keep up to date with any professional issues such as risk assessment/ evolving and evidence-based counselling techniques
  • To routinely participate in audit and service evaluation highlighting any trends to the lead counsellor/Head of EWS
  • To maintain a strong clinical role in EWS, ensuring accessibility and effective support to the EWS counsellors
