Job summary

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, one of the UK's largest Integrated Health Boards, is seeking an Executive Director of Public Health to drive positive change and improve the well-being of our diverse community.

You will report directly to the Chief Executive and work both autonomously and collaboratively with clinical and managerial colleagues to shape and innovate our array of services, ensuring that public health values are at the core of everything we do.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a high calibre individual to undertake the role of Executive Director of Public Health, with a proven track record in public health at a senior level.

> Exceptional communication and influencing skills, coupled with the ability to build effective relationships, are essential.

> Your commitment to delivering public health principles and your success in developing the field of public health are key.

> Your experience in developing and implementing strategy, policy, and cultural improvements in large, complex organisations will be highly valuable.

As an Executive officer member of the Board, the Director will hold corporate responsibility jointly with other Board members for the strategic direction, corporate policy making and development and delivery of the organisation's objectives.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
