Macmillan Assistant Psychologist - Macmillan Cancer Care Clinical Psychology Service

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a assistant psychologist to assist with the psychology provision within the UHB's Macmillan Cancer Care Clinical Psychology Service at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. The post is 0.5WTE, 18.75 hours per week.

This is an exciting time to join Cardiff & Vale UHB as there is a growing Clinical Health Psychology and Neuropsychology specialty. There is an active professional network for clinical psychologists in South Wales and you would be able to develop your professional and clinical skills via CPD opportunities.

It is essential for this post to hold at least an upper second-class honours degree or higher in Psychology, and to have eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC) with the British Psychological Society.

Main duties of the job

To assist in the provision of psychological therapy for people within the UHBs Macmillan Cancer Care Clinical Psychology Service.

To provide support to the Clinical Psychology staff working with people within the service.

To deliver specific interventions under the management and supervision of the relevant Clinical Psychologist; working independently with an agreed plan and following the framework of policies set out by the services involved.
