Senior Youth Worker in Adult Cystic Fibrosis

Job summary

The post-holder will work as part of a large multidisciplinary team within the CF Centre and will plan and deliver an accredited youth work programme for young people within the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Service, in accordance with the principles and values of youth work.

They will contribute to the development of transition services and to act as an advocate and source of support for young patients within the Adult CF Service, relating to their all-round cultural and diversity, developmental and emotional needs.

Main duties of the job

They will effectively deliver youth support to young adults within the All Wales Adult CF Service, including those teenagers requiring support whilst in the transitioning process aged 13+. The position will require the ability to work unsupervised and exercise initiative in the co-ordination of their duties. This will include the development of youth work services within the CF service through identified project aims. The post-holder will provide a wide range of appropriate recreational activities to enable young people to develop cognitive, social and emotional skills throughout the service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
